“Spooks”
A goblin at my window,
A monster by my door.
The pumpkin at my table,
Keeps on smiling more and more.

Poem by Sandra Liatsos

Happy Halloween! It’s so unbelieveable that October has arrived again. All the little ghost and goblins are going to be arriving to our front door step soon.

A few of the guild members have started their Halloween pranks already this year. Larry Mitchell, President of the guild and his trusty side kick Brad Powell, The Fossile Guy, built a scarecrow that is being exhibited at the Blue Licks State Resort Park. There are some of the funniest scarecrows that were made by different folks in this area. Of course, Clem the artist scarecrow, is the mascot of the guild and the dearest to our hearts. If you and your family haven’t been by to check it out do so; it’s lots of fun.

At the guild we are sure gearing up for a “hoot” of a scare for all you helpless citizens of the area this Halloween.

On October 17th, 18th, 24th, 25th and 31st we will be faces painting and doing funny tattoos at Blue Licks State Resort Park in front of the Lodge. At that time the Haunted Trail will be in full force and we will be there to enjoy the fun. All you children or those who are young at heart come over and get a funny face before you get SCARED out of your mind. The cost of these masterpieces are $1.00 face painting and $.50 a tattoo. At any rate come and see us and enjoy the scary, fun attraction at the park.

This past month the Guild held its Annual Membership Art show. The turnout of artist was great as usual. There was oil painting, graphite and charcoal, textile, photography, sculpture, wood carvers and woodworkers, jewelry and a book that was written by one of our members Sherry Howard. I am so happy that such a variety of arts were exhibited. A committee that was headed by Cate Wagoner oversaw the show. Brilliant job guys! There was 95 pieces of art entered by 55 artist. There was a reception for the artist on Saturday and approximately 60 people attended.
